Miko Co
Miko Johnson Co is a Junior Analyst at The Mitchell Madison Group, Manila, Inc. He supports analytical and data-driven initiatives across business and research functions, with experience in economic analysis, reporting, geospatial analytics, and data visualization. He applies a strong analytical mindset and versatile problem-solving approach to his work, supporting complex business analyses, strategic process improvements, development of data-driven solutions, and generation of actionable insights that help drive operational and client value across diverse industries.
He holds dual master’s degrees in Economics from De La Salle University and Data Science from Liverpool Hope University through the CHED Transnational Education Scholarship Program. He also earned his bachelor’s degree in Applied Economics from DLSU as a Star Scholar, a full scholarship awarded to top-performing and panel-screened college entrance examinees.
Alongside his professional work, Miko is involved in academic instruction and mentorship, teaching economics and globalization courses that integrate data analytics, statistics, and visualization methods. He has also been actively engaged in research initiatives focused on spatial economics, urban studies, and geospatial data analytics. His master’s research paper, “The Impact of Urbanization on Heat Stress: Evidence from a New Measure of Urbanization Using Machine-Learning Driven Geospatial Data,” received the Best Paper by a Young Regional Scientist Award at the 19th PRSCO Summer Institute in Sri Lanka.
Outside of his professional and academic pursuits, Miko also maintains a low-key pop-star presence within the Filipino-Chinese community as a singer-performer. He has been invited to perform at events attended by the Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines and has appeared in nationally and internationally broadcast programs in the Philippines, China, and Taiwan, particularly during Chinese New Year cultural celebrations. Beyond the stage, he is also actively engaged in sports and outdoor activities, having been a varsity table tennis athlete, and enjoys traveling, playing badminton, and relaxing at scenic mountaintops during his free time.
